Bye Bye to school

Thursday was the last day of school for the kids. Sage and Silas ended the school year with a cute play called "Goin Buggy". They all finished up with good grades and are ready to give their brains much needed breaks. Sage, Silas, and I spent our first "free" evening looking over the work they had done during the school year. Then it was off to find ALL the blankets in the house to make a tent in the living room. Well, all I can say is "Hello summer, goodbye clean house!"

Camden's Birthday

Camden turned 10 on Wednesday. He has ordered a new skateboard and backpack with his birthday monies so he is soooo excited. We celebrated with tacos and his favorite, "strawberry shortcake". Tonight we will go to see the new Indiana Jones movie. Man, to be 10 again!

Awards Night at Stapley Junior High

We had great time at the Stapley Award Ceremony last night. Since we didn't know what award Dayton was getting, the suspense was killing us. You should have seen the look on Dayton's face when they announced his name as one of the two recipients of the Outstanding Science winners. It was priceless! On top of that wonderful accomplishment, Dayton also received a plaque with his name engraved on it for "Commendable Academic Improvement". He has worked so hard this year to keep his grades up and Jamie and I could not be more proud of him. Of course we took him to Sonic afterwards to celebrate, although he would have rather gone to the Verizon store to pick out a cell phone! Dayton, that was your big night, buddy, and you truly deserved it. You are awesome!

Catch up

We have been so busy this last week that I'm not sure what is next or which way to go. Here's a little recap.... Camden lost his baseball game last night so they will finish up the season on Monday night. They have improved so much since the beginning and I am so proud of the whole team. Mother's Day was the best day ever (or at least in a long time). Jamie brought me a starbucks coffee, beautiful bouquet of flowers and newspaper first thing in the morning. Then I spent the whole day being loved on by my family and even took a wonderful afternoon nap. What a perfect day! Dayton is being recognized at an awards ceremony tonight at Stapley. We aren't sure exactly what it is for but we will be there front row cheering him on. He has worked so hard this year pulling his grades up. I'll let you know how the evening goes. Sage and Silas are having a great soccer season. Sage has become more aggressive at getting in the mist of all the action to kick the ball. Silas scored his first goal of the season last Saturday. Cole has completed all of his Boy Scout requirements for Eagle except the big project. Once he gets back from his trip in Ethiopia he will be able to focused on that. Jamie's work is doing great - God is so faithful! Hope everyone has a great weekend, spending time with loved ones and making a difference in the lives of strangers. God Bless

Spring Band Concert

Spring Band conerts mark the end of another school year. Cole has played trumpet/baritone since 5th grade. The Mountain View Symphonic Band made "State" competiton this year and received an excellent rating. Dayton has played percussion for three and and loves it. He is taking full drum set lessons from Jared, a family friend, and he hopes to get his own set soon. Since I am tone deaf and can't keep a beat to save my life, I am very proud and amazed by what they can do musically. Good job, guys!
