Concert

While listening to K-Love last week we heard that one of our most favorite bands, Third Day, was going to put on a free concert at City of Grace Church last night. Thank goodness we decided to go early! We arrived (all seven of us) about fifteen minutes before the doors were to open and the line was already wrapped around three sides of the church and had goosnecked and was heading back to the front. We are all taking bets at what chance we had to get in - it didn't look too good at that point. We found out that they were only letting in 2000 people and after about 40 minutes of "crawling" towards the door we received our wrist bands. We were somewhere around the 1800's - it was all worth it. Tenth Avenue North opened and they were fantastic. Mike and Sherry were there from K-love, also. It was great - the band shared alot of personal stuff and sang some great songs including some from their new CD that released this week, "Revelation." I love Mac Powell's voice - he is my all-time most favorite artist. Afterward, Jamie, Silas, and Sage waited in line and the band autographed their new CD for us - what a great night of worship and fun. On the way home we stopped off at Mickey D's for a midnight snack of milkshakes and french fries - our favorite!

Cole

Cole left yesterday morning on his trip to Africa with some others from his church youth group. You will find a link to his blog on the right side of mine under "Special People."

Sage and I went out for a "girls" day on Thursday. We ate lunch at the California Pizza kitchen and then wandered around Tempe Marketplace. At Clair's Sage decided she was ready to have her ears pierced. She was so excited and she looks beautiful. Unfortunately she woke up the next morning sick and for the next 2 1/2 days has been unable to keep even ice chips down. Soooo, we spent this afternoon at Children's Phoenix Urgent care where she received 2 units of IV for her dehydration and also some medication to help with the nausea. She looks and feels so much better already. Thank you to all who have been praying for her.

Camp Geronimo

Dayton left Saturday for boy scout camp for a week. He was excited to go this year and it should be easier than last year. I think his merit badges are basket weaving and cooking - you rock Dayton. We miss you!

Finally - a missing tooth

OK, I know our kids loose their teeth a little later than most but Silas set the record. He is 8, going into 3rd grade, and just lost his first tooth. As you can see from the picture, his permanent tooth had already come in behind the baby one so he will never have the cute "toothless" grin that the others had. Once he realized it was about to come out he kinda freaked out and was yelling frantically at Cole, "Go away you tooth puller." Poor Sage lost her first tooth when she was just three, thanks to her brother (you'll have to guess which one) and so she went 5 years with a hole in the front.
